Quick answer
Does Cobaltfell refund a VPS?
Yes, in two defined cases. When Cobaltfell cannot build a VPS, or a VPS stops and support cannot restore it, each day out of service returns to your balance, valued at the price of the term divided by its days (30, 91, 182 or 365). The balance never expires. Only the part of a top-up paid to reach the minimum comes back in crypto, on request within 30 days.
1. When do days return to my balance?
When a VPS cannot be built, or stops and support cannot bring it back, every day it was out of service returns to your balance. The balance never expires. Top-ups are not cashed out unless a law requires it, except the part paid only to reach the minimum top-up, which comes back on request in USDT or USDC within 30 days of payment if it is still unspent.
In practice, two situations put days back on your balance, and no others do:
- The VPS cannot be built, for instance because the city you picked has no room left for new servers. No VPS is created, and its whole price remains on your balance.
- The VPS stops and support cannot get it running again. Every day it spends out of service returns to your balance, at the day value of section 2.
2. What is one day worth?
A credited day is worth the price you paid for the term divided by the number of days that term contains. The base period is 30 days, and the longer terms run for their own count of days:
| Term | Days in the term | Value of one day |
|---|---|---|
| 1 month | 30 | Price paid ÷ 30 |
| 3 months (10% off) | 91 | Price paid ÷ 91 |
| 6 months (20% off) | 182 | Price paid ÷ 182 |
| 12 months (30% off) | 365 | Price paid ÷ 365 |
The price paid already carries the term discount, so a day credited on a long term is worth less than a day on a monthly term.
3. Worked examples
Here is how the rule plays out in common situations, across different plans and terms.
| What happens | Result |
|---|---|
| You order Fell 16 for 1 month at $185.53, and its city is full by the time your payment confirms | Nothing is built. $185.53 remains on your balance, ready for an order in another city. |
| Your Fell 2 on a 1-month term at $14.98 runs for 10 days, then stops, and support cannot restore it | Its 20 days of downtime go back to your balance, worth 20/30 of $14.98. |
| Your Fell 8, ordered for 12 months at $458.89, runs for 200 days, then stops, and support cannot restore it | The 165 days left return to your balance: 165/365 of $458.89. |
| Your Fell 4, ordered for 6 months at $133.63, fails on day 150 and support cannot restore it | 32 days return to your balance: 32/182 of $133.63. |
| You delete your Fell 2 12 days into its term | No credit: deleting a VPS ends it together with its remaining days. |
| Your VPS is suspended for mining or for sending spam | No credit: the refund cases do not include a VPS stopped for an acceptable use breach. |
| Auto-renew is off, or the balance is too low, when the term ends | Suspension follows, with a 7-day hold on the disk before it is erased. Nothing further is charged, and nothing is credited. |
| You set the next renewal to 12 months instead of 1 | Not a refund case: the term already paid runs to its end, and the new term is charged at renewal. |
4. Where does a credit go?
Once support confirms them, credited days are added to your Cobaltfell balance in US dollars. Credit on your balance does not expire and renews any of your VPS. When a top-up is only made to reach the minimum, the unspent part comes back on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC. The rest of a balance is not paid out unless the law requires it.
That balance pays for any plan and any term on the pricing page, in all three cities.
5. Can a top-up come back in crypto?
Except where a law demands it, top-ups stay on the balance and are not paid out. The one exception is the part added solely to reach the $1 minimum. On request, that part returns in USDT or USDC within 30 days of the payment, provided it is still unspent.
The exception only matters for an order priced under the minimum, and today none is: the least expensive, Fell 2 for 1 month at $14.98, costs more than $1. A top-up made for an order therefore equals its price, with nothing added to reach the minimum.
| What you paid | What can return in USDT or USDC |
|---|---|
| A top-up for Fell 2 on a 1-month term at $14.98, the least expensive order | Nothing: even this order costs more than the $1 minimum, so no part of the top-up was added to reach it. |
| More than the price of the same 1-month Fell 2 | Nothing in USDT or USDC: the amount above the price is ordinary balance, which never expires. |
| A top-up for Fell 8 on a 12-month term at $458.89 | Nothing: that order already costs more than the minimum, so no part was added to reach it. |
| A top-up of $1 or above that orders no VPS | Nothing: with no plan to top up for, the whole amount is ordinary balance. |
| A request made 45 days after a top-up, whatever its size | Nothing, because the request comes after the 30-day window; the money remains usable on a balance that never expires. |
6. How do I ask for a refund?
Refund requests are made by email, and no ID or document is ever needed.
Email support
Write to [email protected] with "Refund request" as the subject, sending from the address on your account if it has one.
Point to the payment
Include the order reference (ORD-…) and the transaction ID (TXID). Leave your account number out. Nobody from our team will ever ask for your account number, your root password or your private SSH key, by email or in a chat.
State what should come back
For a VPS that failed, give its IP address and describe the fault. To get the minimum top-up part back, name the USDT or USDC address that should receive it and say which network it is on.
Wait for the reply
A person answers support emails within 12 hours, seven days a week, including help with SSH keys, reinstalls and firewall rules.
7. What is not refundable?
- Top-up balance, unless a law requires a payout; the only exception is the minimum top-up part described in section 5.
- The remaining days of a VPS you delete.
- The rest of a 3-, 6- or 12-month term you no longer need: a paid term is neither cut short nor partly refunded.
- The remaining days of a VPS suspended for breaking the acceptable use policy, mining included.
- Data on a VPS erased after its 7-day hold. Backups are not part of any plan: keep a copy of your data somewhere else.
- The network fees you paid to send crypto.
- Money sent from an address that a sanctions list names. Before a payment is credited, the address that sent it is checked against public sanctions lists of blockchain addresses whenever its blockchain makes that address public; money from a listed address is never credited.
- Crypto paid to an incorrect address, or over a network other than the one displayed, since nothing can reverse a blockchain transaction.
8. Is a chargeback possible on a crypto payment?
No. A crypto payment cannot be pulled back after the blockchain confirms it, so chargebacks do not exist here. Money comes back only through this refund policy, and every request reaches us by email at [email protected]. This policy forms part of the terms of service.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be revised. Revisions apply to payments made on or after the date shown at the top, which identifies the version in force.
