Quick answer
What does a dedicated CPU VPS cost per core in November 2026?
According to Cobaltfell's survey of 2 November 2026, the least expensive dedicated CPU core at a no-KYC crypto VPS host was HostSailor Commodore's, $3.19 a month (16 vCPU, 16 GB of RAM, $50.99). The median was $12.50 per core across 141 plans, and $8.20 on processors launched in 2022 or later. Cobaltfell redoes this index monthly; its own Fell 8 costs $4.78 per vCPU on 12 months.

How was the index built?
We read 71 VPS hosts on 2 November 2026, through their public pages only: no account, no order, no payment, no message to support. The same rules applied to every host:
- Pool: crypto accepted and no ID document at signup. A host that asks for one only on written triggers (card payment, refund, fraud flag) stays in, marked "only on triggers". 51 hosts passed.
- Dedicated: the host's own text says the CPU, the cores or the vCPU are dedicated. "Dedicated resources" alone, or the label "VDS" alone, does not count. 22 pool hosts passed.
- 2022 or later: the named processor came out in 2022 or after (Ryzen 7000/9000, EPYC 4004/8004/9004/9005, Intel 13th/14th generation, Xeon Scalable 4th generation onward).
- Price: the shortest billed cycle as a monthly figure, 30 or 31 days counting as a month; euros at 1 EUR = 1.1172 USD (ECB reference rate of 30 October 2026), before VAT where the host says so. Per core = that price divided by the dedicated vCPU.
- Ranked plans: NVMe, in stock, read on the host's own site: 141 plans at 16 hosts. The other 6 hosts appear further down with the reason.
In this index, "dedicated" means the host wrote it about the CPU; it never means someone measured it. Only a purchase followed by a steal-time log shows whether a promise holds; what CPU steal time is and how to check it on a VPS gives the commands.
What does one dedicated vCPU cost per month?
The median was $12.50 per dedicated vCPU a month across all 141 ranked plans, and $8.20 across the 34 plans on processors launched in 2022 or later. The range ran from $3.19 to $98.18 per core.
Two things move these medians:
- One host weighs heavily. VPSBG lists 36 of the 141 plans, all between $53 and $99 per core. Set them aside and the median of the other 105 plans falls to $9.15.
- Newer chips were not dearer. The 2022-or-later median sits below the overall one. Four of the six hosts with recent processors (HostSailor, VPSLab, RDP.monster and Servury) price every plan between $3.19 and $12 per core, while VPSBG, Evolution Host, Servers.Guru and CryptoVPS.host, on older or unnamed processors, ask $17 to $98.
A median per core says nothing about speed. A Ryzen 9 9950X core and a 2016 Xeon E5 core can cost the same and perform very differently; the guide on how to benchmark a VPS with YABS or Geekbench 6 shows how to check one after purchase.
Which plans are least expensive per dedicated core?
HostSailor, Cloudzy and VPSFaster sold the least expensive dedicated cores, each under $4 a month, but with 1 GB of RAM or less per core. The table keeps, for each product line, the plan that costs least per core. Rows are sorted by that figure.

How does each host word "dedicated"?
Each host words its promise its own way, and only Cherry Servers says how many physical cores sit behind its vCPU. These are the exact words we read on 2 November 2026. We quote them without grading them: nobody we know of has measured any of these plans.

What do 2, 4, 8 and 16 dedicated cores cost?
At 2 dedicated cores the least expensive plan on a 2022-or-later processor was $13.99 a month; at 16 cores only one plan qualified, at €155. A tier asks for at least its core count, 2 GB of RAM and 20 GB of NVMe per core, an IPv4 included, monthly billing and stock. The strict pool also needs a named processor from 2022 or later; the loose pool accepts any processor, old or unnamed.
| Tier (minimum) | Strict: 1st | Strict: 2nd | Strict: 3rd | Plans that qualified (strict) | Loose: 1st | Cobaltfell, 12-month term / month to month |

Cobaltfell's column follows the written price rule set out on its pricing page, where each tier is priced against a named plan of the strict columns; its plans are left out of every median. We do not claim to be the cheapest at every size: the loose column lists month-to-month prices below ours in every row, on older or unnamed processors.
What do netcup, Hetzner and the big clouds charge for the same cores?
netcup's Root Servers, on an AMD EPYC 9645, cost $6.54 to $8.31 per dedicated core from 2 to 8 cores, close to the strict pool, but netcup takes no crypto and checks identity after the first order. The five references below sit outside the pool on purpose: none takes crypto without an identity layer.
| Provider and line | Processor | 2 vCPU | 4 vCPU | 8 vCPU | 16 vCPU | Crypto | Identity |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| netcup Root Server G12.5 | AMD EPYC 9645 | $16.61 | $27.93 | $52.30 | $190.69 | No | ID and selfie after the first order, or prepayment |
| Linode Dedicated CPU G6 | Not stated | $36.00 | $72.00 | $144.00 | $288.00 | No | Card must match the billing contact |
| Vultr Optimized Cloud Compute (CPU) | AMD EPYC, generation not stated | $40.00 | $80.00 | $160.00 | $320.00 | Through BitPay | A payment method is required to verify identity |
| DigitalOcean CPU-Optimized | Intel Xeon Scalable, 2nd generation or older | $42.00 | $84.00 | $168.00 | $336.00 | Stablecoins, not offered to everyone | One-time $25 authorization |

What can this index not tell you?
It cannot tell you whether any of these cores is really dedicated, because nobody has bought and measured them. Other limits of the data:
- One sentence, many plans. HostSailor's claim is one bullet for a whole line priced at $3 to $5 per EPYC Genoa core; RDP.monster's covers its whole fleet; Servury writes "dedicated" only on its blog.
- Processors not named. Cloudzy shows "Ryzen 9" on the page and "EPYC" in its menu; KernelHost gives a 2021 chip, the EPYC 7763, as an example; Ultahost, VPSBG and Evolution Host name no model.
- Inconsistencies and unknown places. Servury lists DDR4 memory beside Ryzen processors that only take DDR5; VPSLab does not say where its Ryzen line runs, and Hiddence names no company and no country.
- Computed or promotional prices. VPSBG's monthly price comes from its own formula, 8 Ultahost prices from its cart data, and Cloudzy's includes a 50% discount with no stated renewal price.
How often is the index updated, and can I reuse it?
The survey is redone once a month and published at this same address, with the date of the reading at the top. Quote the date with any figure.
The tables may be reused under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (CC BY 4.0): name Cobaltfell, link to this page and give the survey date. A wrong figure can be reported to [email protected] with the page that shows the right one; the next edition carries the correction.
Our own plans and their pricing rule are on how much a dedicated-core VPS costs at Cobaltfell. A ranked shortlist is in which is the best dedicated CPU VPS provider in 2026.
What other questions do people ask about dedicated CPU VPS prices?
Why is the overall median higher than the median for 2022-or-later processors?
Because one host with high prices lists many plans. VPSBG contributes 36 of the 141 ranked plans at $53 to $99 per core, on EPYC chips it does not name. Most plans on recent processors came from hosts charging $3.19 to $12 per core.
Does a lower price per core mean a faster VPS?
No. Price per core ignores the processor generation, the clock speed, the RAM per core and whether a vCPU is a full core or one thread. A benchmark after purchase, such as YABS or Geekbench 6, tells you more than the price.
Why is Cobaltfell in the table but not in the medians?
Because we sell VPS ourselves, and counting our own prices would bend the figures we publish. Our row is labelled as ours and kept apart; our prices are set from this survey by a written rule.
Which of these hosts accept Monero?
30 of the 51 hosts in the pool named Monero on 2 November 2026; the coins column above shows which. Cobaltfell, which is not counted in the pool, has accepted Monero since 3 November 2026: its coins are BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, XMR.
